the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker?

Griffin and Carl surrounded by books

I was telling Griffin the story of Le petit chaperon rouge--Little Red Riding Hood--recently when my mind blanked on how to say "woodcutter" in French.

"Dans le bois, elle a vu un...un...boucher...non...un buche...non...euh..." I stammered.  [In the woods, she saw a butcher...no...a branch...no...um....]

Matter-of-factly, Griffin said the word--un bucheron--and we continued with the story.

Can I just say how proud I am that he corrected my French?!

  2. I love it when that happens. It is especially embarrassing however when they correct your accent.....

    1. Griffin has (so far) corrected the pronunciation of my mother, his babysitter, and a high school girl that I tutor in French!
