Remember Suzanne?

This blog has become so important to me--it has encouraged me to reflect on and document my experiences with Carl (and now Griffin!), introduced me to so many other parents and educators who understand my passion for teaching and languages, inspired me to research language acquisition and try out new activities. Writing both soothes and energizes me, and I always look forward to checking my blog. I especially like swapping stories and ideas with you all and following your stories on your blogs too!

So you can understand how delighted I was to read Reb's most recent post about how after months of disregarding her mother's native language of English, Suzanne is happily using both French and English appropriately. Kudos to the whole family!

Click here for an update on Suzanne's progress as of summer 2008.

  1. Sarah, you're excitement about the topic has inspired me too. I made a comment a week or so back about my family's cultural background and language situation. You stopped by my blog at that time, but since then I've started a new blog specific to the inter cultural, bilingual world that my husband and I are creating. I really want to be a part of this language acquisition community and have seen you set such a great example of doing so! Thanks! http://underonetecho.blogspot.com
