I need some space!

Is anyone else pulling their hair out about Blogger lately? I have spent five days trying to get the spacing correct for my next post which has a zillion pictures. Every time it looks good in the "compose" frame, the "preview" frame shows very screwy spacing (too much between paragraphs and pictures or else none at all). So I go into the "edit html" frame, fiddle with that, check the "preview," like it, click on "post," and the changes I made to the html disappear. Not all of them, but enough that I have to restart the entire process. Five days later, I'm still not happy but I'm going to post it anyway or I'll have no hair left. Any advice?

  1. Here's what I found on the Blogger blog:

"We've reproduced an issue which is affecting paragraph spacing when composing from the Old Post Editor on IE. We're working to sort out the underlying issue, but in the meantime we recommend updating to the New Editor from the Settings | Basic tab."

I didn't even realize this was a choice (or that there was a "New Editor" to begin with. I'll see if this makes a difference.

In the meantime, it is a big relief to know that I'm not just going crazy!

  2. I've been on the new editor for ages, but it's still screwy at times. Like spacing doesn't look the same in post and preview modes and not all changes you make in post are actually really necessary, or at other times, don't seem to register in preview but show up when you publish, that sort of thing.

The spacing issue seems to have moved over to text boxes on my side bar now, too. Even deleting a whole text box and putting in a new one doesn't fix it. Nor does adding code, the litte bits I know, in HTML mode.

So yeah. I'm almost bald now, too. And waiting for Blogger to get with it....

  3. The blogger editor drives me to distraction too. It's not just the spaces (although it's good to know it's not just my eyes that are playing up), it flicks to the beginning of paragraphs when it shouldn't, especially if I try to copy paste text (or umlauted letters) in, changes font at the drop of a hat (or click of a mouse), and there is one post that I can't for the life of me get into the same size font as the others. I think it's just NOT VERY GOOD and given how many people use blogger, they should just damn well get their act together. There, I've had my rant.

  4. I never had a problem until I switched to the new editor. Everything was just peachy, and then when I click publish, the beginning of my most is kicked down 8-10 lines. I can go back in and edit after posting and it is fine, but ugh! How annoying!

  5. Hooray for Blogger rants! It's good to discover that I'm not the only one frustrated.
